Skills for Life

Exploitation Awareness

Real, straight information about people who try to use or trap young people — from a specialist, in a safe room. No one asks your story. You leave knowing it's never your fault, and knowing who to call.

Certificate
New Steps Certificate — competence-based, signed off when the young person has shown the skill on a real task

A coach checks in one-to-one before, and follows up the same day after.

What they leave with

  • Their own reflection, if they want one — spoken, written or drawn, and never a test
  • A referral and reporting card
  • The help numbers, in their phone
  • A support map of who is in their corner

What this module is not

New Steps brokers, hosts, wraps and coaches. A booked specialist delivers the content.

How we hold the room

No one is asked to tell their story, and nothing in the session is tested.

How it connects

Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.

Is this a fit for someone you work with?

A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.
