New Steps Certificate — competence-based, signed off when the young person has shown the skill on a real task

Every session stands alone. No session needs the one before it, and a resident who comes to only one still leaves with a whole skill.

What they leave with

  • Their own grounding move
  • Their map of safe people and safe places
  • A referral card they keep in their pocket
  • A harm-reduction card for staying safer
  • Their own written plan for hard days

How it connects

Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.

Is this a fit for someone you work with?

A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.

Or call (431) 444-2114 Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, urgent calls answered any time.
