What they leave with
- A rehearsed script for calling 911
- A keep-forever card on using naloxone and on the Good Samaritan protection
- A card with their two ways out, where their shutoffs are, and what to do in a cold snap or an outage
- A 72-hour kit they built themselves — cheap, and in their room
- A Standard First Aid and CPR-C card, valid three years
How it connects
Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.
Is this a fit for someone you work with?
A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.
Or call (431) 444-2114 — Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, urgent calls answered any time.
