New Steps Certificate — competence-based, signed off when the young person has shown the skill on a real task

Plus an optional group transit outing — half a day or a full day.

What they leave with

  • Their own planned real bus trip, or a completed group outing
  • A winter plan for getting stuck, with a real person to call
  • A transport line in their money plan
  • Their own map of ways to get around
  • A licence-ladder card: the three stages, their own next step, and who helps them practise

How it connects

Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.

Is this a fit for someone you work with?

A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.

Or call (431) 444-2114 Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, urgent calls answered any time.
