By the end, you'll have your own documents — or the applications filed — and your own bank account, opened or started. This is the master key. Everything else opens once you have it.

New Steps Certificate — competence-based, signed off when the young person has shown the skill on a real task

Plus one to two guided group trips, half a day each. One facilitator to every four residents during any application block or trip.

What they leave with

  • Real documents in hand, or applications filed for their core documents
  • A bank account opened — or a documented attempt
  • A safekeeping plan: they know where their originals live and who helps them
  • Keep-forever reference cards

How it runs

Includes a banking-rights session on the legal right to a basic account.

Is this a fit for someone you work with?

A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.
