By the end, you have your own ways to carry a loss — and you know you don't carry it alone.

A gentle arc, but every session is enterable. Someone who missed last week, or who joins late, is never behind.
What they leave with
- A truer name for their own losses
- One grounding move for a grief wave
- A low-pressure way to remember
- Their circle-of-support map
- A referral card they keep in their pocket
- If they choose it, one reflection of their own
How it runs
New Steps runs a support-skills spine — what grief does, ways through a wave, remembering, supports, and how to get help. Any cultural framing of grief is authored and co-led by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, never written by New Steps.
How we hold the room
Small groups, kept short, and nobody is asked to share more than they choose.
How it connects
Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.
Bridges to
Is this a fit for someone you work with?
A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.
