Skills for Life

Reality Budget Simulation

You'll run a whole month of real life — your own pay, your own bills, your own choices — and walk out knowing one thing you'll change with your real money.

New Steps Certificate — competence-based, signed off when the young person has shown the skill on a real task

Not a multi-session course — a single live event. Staff set the room up for 90 minutes before anyone arrives; that setup is not part of the resident's day.

What they leave with

  • A completed simulation passbook — their month, tracked
  • A keep-forever reference card
  • One named change they will make with their real money

How it connects

Modules are built to stack. Where one has already taught a skill, the next one recalls it rather than teaching it again.

Comes after

Is this a fit for someone you work with?

A caseworker reaches out, we book a tour, and we work out together whether New Steps is the right place. When a room is open, a referral can come together in about a week. When we are full, we will say so. New Steps is not an emergency placement service — we do not take same-day or overnight placements.
